Bones of a human were discovered in the field at a certain farm in Delmas on September 1.
The police confirmed they were investigating an inquest case. According to the Delmas police, they received a tip-off coming from a game hunter about the discovery at Hekpoort Farm near R42, Bronkhorstspruit Road.

“Upon arrival, we confirmed the bones were certainly of a human next to a tree. It is further reported that a person who was game hunting at the farm made the discovery,” said the police.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the person could have been dumped, then set alight. “We are still trying to establish the circumstances of the person’s death.”

The identity and gender are unknown at this stage. However, the police are currently probing an inquest which may be changed to murder due the evidence suggesting that the person could have been set alight.
