Learner dies after stabbing incident at school

A learner was stabbed by another following a gangster-related fight during break time yesterday.

The Grade 10 pupil from Cebisa Secondary School succumbed to his injuries at Ermelo Public Hospital. “They alleged both learners belong to different troublesome gangster groups in the township. The passing of the learner through a stabbing on school grounds is a sad and unfortunate development,” read the Education department’s statement.

The MEC, Bonakele Majuba, will visit the school on Thursday. He will be with officials who will render psychosocial services to all who were affected by the incident.
