Leslie man arrested for raping 12-year-old

A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 40-year-old man at Leslie in the Gert Sibande District on Saturday, May 13.

According to the police, the incident was reported, and they arrested the suspect the police in Leslie and the man after the matter was reported.

“On that fateful day, the victim was playing in the street when she was lured by the suspect to his house. The man allegedly took advantage of the child and raped her. After the incident, the victim went home and related the ordeal to her grandmother. The matter was eventually reported to the police. The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) will investigate the case. The man is expected to appear at the Leslie Periodical Court on today facing a rape charge.
