KANYAMAZANE- A Swazi national is facing child murder, attempted murder, and perjury charges.
Sanele Fakudze (37), from the Kingdom of Eswatini, was arrested in connection with an incident that took place on 27 June 2025.
A 28-year-old woman and her daughter (4) were reported missing at the local police station. According to a report, the two were last seen getting into the suspect’s vehicle who is supposedly the woman’s friend.
On 28 June 2025, the woman was found by community members, lying next to the road in Kaapmuiden. She was unconscious and Emergency Services and the police were called to the scene. She was then taken to hospital for medical treatment, and police later discovered that she was the person reported missing.

Meanwhile, the partially burned body of the little girl was discovered last Thursday by a farmer who alerted the authorities. The suspect was arrested on July 4, 2025 .
The suspect appeared at Kanyamazane Periodical Court on Monday, July 7 where the matter was postponed to 14 July, 2025 for further investigation. He remains in custody.
