Police officer Mandlenkosi Happy Thwala (45) was shot five times, allegedly with his service firearm on the head and upper body.
According to police reports, his mother asked the neighbour to check on him as she suspected her son had been murdered.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said upon arrival at the deceased’s home in Gedlembane, he was lying on his bed with visible gunshot wounds.
“There were also two cartridges found on the floor and on his vehicle. His firearm and cellphone were missing but were later recovered in a nearby bush. The police opened a murder case with an additional charge of robbery for investigation,” said Mohlala.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old woman who is suspected was arrested at Dayizenza while in hiding at her boyfriend’s house.
