Bundles of joys brought cheer and joy at Matikwane and Themba Hospitals this Christmas. Premier Mandla Ndlovu welcomed a total of 63 newborns in the province.
He said this year girls outnumbered boys and he was happy to share this special moment with all mothers. “I’m happy for these mothers to have given birth to these beautiful babies. All babies have names and they will all complete birth certificate applications. We are continuing with a journey we started a long time ago as government. As politicians we go out to hospitials and witness the arrival of new babies. Future professionals, presidents, doctors and premiers were born today and we could not be happier.”

“I’m happy to have joined the mothers and they will raise these babies to be responsible adults. I do not think there will be a parent that will have an excuse of their child not going to school up to a junior degree. There is access to education with NSFAS there to assist the unemployed and underprivileged. This is indeed a special moment and I hope the parents take care of them and give them the love they deserve,” he said.
First time mother, Lindokuhle Siwela said she was excited to welcome her daughter, Melokuhle who was born around 1:00am. Although she had contractions for almost four days, she was relieved to have given birth naturally without complications
