Authorities arrested Nala Abraham Fenyane, a 58-year-old prison warden, for possessing drugs, which included 93 tablets and three sachets with an estimated street value of R15 000.

According to the police, the warden was at his post at Paxton Correctional Centre in Witbank when his supervisor unexpectedly arrived at the facility’s main gate. The supervisor became suspicious when observing the member’s bag fully loaded. He then conducted a preliminary investigation, which resulted in the arrest of the warden on the spot.

“They later released him on R3000 bail at the police station, where he was ordered to appear in Emalahleni Magistrate’s Court. His bail was extended and is expected to make his second appearance on the same court on Monday, November 27,” read the police statement.
