MBOMBELA – The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is encouraging all Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant (R370) beneficiaries to ensure that they do identity verification.
According to provincial spokesperson, Senzeni Ngubeni, there is no short cut, all beneficiaries that are required to go through this process, they must do it to avoid delays and disappointment of not receiving the grant.
The main reason to receive the status: ‘identity verification’ is that the Agency is suspecting fraudulent activity, contacts and banking details that are incorrect. Beneficiaries who have this status, must not panic, but verify at SASSA local offices or log in to the website http://srd.sassa.gov.za.

“SASSA online platforms and service offices are always ready to provide assistance to beneficiaries and inquiring clientele,” stated Ngubeni.
