Suspected zama zama to appear in court for trespassing

MOOIPLAAS – A Zimbabwean man suspected to be an illegal miner is expected to appear before the Elukwatini Magistrate’s Court on 16 January 2025 after he was found trespassing at the Songimvelo Nature Reserve.

According to the police, the illegal foreigner was among about 80 other people who were found trespassing at the Nature Reserve in October.

Spokesperson for the Elukwatini Police Station Sergeant Wiseman Nkosi revealed that six rangers who were on patrol duty on the day, came across the men inside the Reserve who were in possession of digging equipment.
