Two men are facing charges of rape while one allegedly impregnated his daughter.
The 42-year-old man from Bethal allegedly raped and impregnated his 13-year-old after his daughter confessed. “The suspect allegedly sexually victimised the 13-year-old during September 2023. On January 4, it came to light that the girl is pregnant. Thereafter, the suspect threatened to kill her if she reveals what has happened between them. It is further alleged that he even offered money to the victim to remain silent,” said the police.

Later that day, the step-mother approached her and asked about the pregnancy. She confessed and said her father impregnated her. “The brave step-mother informed the girl’s biological mother, and then she reported the matter to the police. He is due to make his second appearance at the Bethal Magistrate’s Court on Friday, January 19. He is expected to make a formal bail application.”
In a separate incident, a mother discovered shocking news on Sunday, January 14, after she noticed her husband with their daughter’s underwear. She confronted him and denied any wrongdoing. According to the police, this disturbed the mother and immediately approached her daughter who broke her silence that her father has been raping her since last year.

“The matter was reported to the police, and a team of SAPS members from the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit responded swiftly on the same day. The suspect was arrested and charged for raping a minor,” read the police statement.
He appeared at the Balfour Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Tuesday, January 16, for allegedly raping his eight-year-old step-daughter. The court postponed the case to today, January 18, for legal representation. The suspect remains in custody.
