Actress shot dead at her home

Actress, Thandeka Mdeliswa was shot dead at her home in Evander on September 3.

According to a family statement, she was rushed to Evander Hospital and was stabilised then was airlifted to Witbank Hospital. She was later transferred to Steve Biko Academic Hospital when she became critical on September 5.

Police reports reveal that she was shot after an argument between two men and her brother. Police spokesperson, Brig Leonard Hlathi said the owner of the firearm has been identified and the police are still searching for the person who fired the shot.

“There was commotion between her brother and two men. She then went to find out what the problem was and was shot. The two men fled the scene and the police as well as medical personnel were called to the scene,” said Brig Hlathi.

Mdeliswa was popular for her roles in Mzansi Magic’s Lokshion Biskop movies such as The Contract, Imo Kokufa, Ngempela and her latest in SABC 1 Ndebele drama-series, Ikani.
