Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City squared off on a goalless match at Cape Town Stadium yesterday.
The Glamour Boys dominated much of the match but were poor in the final third and had to hold on a little towards the end of the game as the home side finished stronger. Three minutes into the game, Rhodes saw Petersen off his line, but his effort went over the bar.
Keagan Dolly attempted a shot and cut in on his left, but his shot was blocked by a City defender. Head Coach Stuart Baxter expressed his thoughts. “We had superb control of the game until probably the last 10 or 15 minutes. I think we created chances without really hitting the target. We felt we were the ones who should have won the game,” said Baxter.
“When we got to the last 15 minutes and had a couple of changes to make, you do always lose your shape a little. We then conceded a couple of dangerous situations where we had to defend bravely.”
Chiefs will face Baroka FC on February 26. They are currently on the third spot of the log while The Citizens are number nine.
