ELUKWATINI – The family of a two-year-old girl who was raped by a previously convicted rapist, are calling for a life sentence after the accused was found guilty by the Elukwatini Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
Senzo Ndiwane, 26, was found guilty for the rape of the toddler which took place in February this year. He allegedly lured the little girl to an abandoned house in Nhlazatshe Ext 5 where he sexually assaulted her.
This was not his first offense. Ndiwane was previously convicted for the rape of an eight-year-old girl when he was 16 -years-old.
He is due to appear again before the Elukwatini Magistrate’s Court on 12 May for sentencing.

“We hope that he will be given a life sentence. He has shown that he doesn’t deserve to live with other people. He must be removed from society so that he won’t hurt another child,” said the grandmother of the two-year-old victim.

The distraught grandmother also expressed contentment on the proceedings of the case. “We are relieved that the case didn’t drag long and justice is taking its cause. We are also grateful for the support of the community and some organizations that have been showing up to support us,” she added.
