Vote of no confidence in Mkhondo

The African National Congress will institute a vote of no confidence in the current executive in order to reclaim the mayoral chain today.

According to ANC deputy provincial chairperson Speedy Mashilo, “We won that local municipality by 54 percent. We were robbed of it by some ridiculous members who colluded with the opposition to pip us out of power. Today, we’re back at the Council Chambers to reclaim our power and mayoral chain.

“We have incumbent executive mayor, Ngelosi Ndlovu, who, by the end of today, will wear the mayoral chain in ANC colours. We are reclaiming what belongs to the people of Mkhondo under the ANC flag.

“Our promise to our people in Mkhondo we will resuscitate service delivery with immediate effect. Friday, we will, among others, be rolling out about 800 decent housing, prioritising those who experienced recent disasters which destroyed infrastructure and roads destroyed whose houses.

“The new executive mayor, Ngelosi Ndlovu, has been deployed and is ready to bring back dignity to Mkhondo and rid it also of the numerous potholes in the town and outlying areas. “We are serious about improving our people’s lives,” said Mashilo.
