Much as murder accused, delegates elected Mandla Msibi to the Top 5 position during the 13th Mpumalanga Provincial Elective Conference in absentia yesterday.
He will step aside from the position until his court case is complete. Newly-elected Provincial Chairperson Mandla Ndlovu disclosed this yesterday.
“As an organisation, we will always abide by the rules and regulations of the ANC. We cannot stand in the way of popular choice by our members. They have nominated and voted for him,” he said.

Asked if anyone will fill in for Msibi until the court clears him, he said, ”I’m used to working with short staff. I’ve been working with three people as an acting chairperson for the past five years. We will suffice.”
