Premier assembles credible cabinet set to deliver services

Newly elected Mpumalanga premier, Mandla Ndlovu selected his cabinet on Tuesday.

He selected men and women who showed resilience during election campaigns and in all aspects of his resilient work among communities.

Responding to the question: How much do you trust your team? Ndlovu curtly responded with much poise and confidence, excitedly stating thus:

“They’ve been my comrades-in-arms within ANC structures and governance over the years. They have proven themselves over the years as committed ANC cadres in whom I entrust the deliverance of services in them and together, we will ensure we respond positively to the people’s quest during election campaigns and deliver,” he stated.

One remarkable aspect about his choice of Members of the Executive Committee (MECs), is that they equitably represent all regions in the province and they are of mixed ages. Having also incorporated former ANC Youth League leaders in the form of Health MEC, Sasekani Manzini who is serving her second term in this portfolio. She’s on record as having stabilised health facilities in the province and continues to be hands-on. She’s from Ehlanzeni District.

There’s also Thulasizwe Thomo, a former ANC Youth League provincial chairperson who has been thrust in as MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport, responsible for infrastructure development in the province. He hails from Gert Sibande District.

Jacky Macie, the ANC regional chairperson has demonstrated his illustrious political strength during the recent election campaigns, having set up the “Buyel’ekhaya Campaign” which succeeded to lure back defected members of the ANC back into the fold on numerous occasions. He was also hailed by President Cyril Ramaphosa when he filled up Kamhlushwa Stadium for the Siyanqoba Rally to the brim.
