According to the National Prosecuting Authority, Fundiswa Nokuphiwa Mathithibala said she was visiting Lorch when he left her at his home to go out with his friend. It was getting late and Mathithibala messaged him to return her car keys. On arrival, an argument ensued and Lorch became violent and strangled her, beat her while pulling her up and down. She called for help and his friend came to her rescue.

Michele Hart argued the medical evidence backed the complainant’s evidence. The lack of injuries on the accused indicated that he was the one who initiated the attack. The accused and his witness did not create a good impression in court and appeared to be not credible witnesses. They postponed the case to July 28 for sentencing proceedings.
