Woman found dead with gunshot wounds in Machadodorp

A 33-year-old woman was found murdered at Machadodorp on July 2. 

According to police, they were informed of a vehicle parked next to the road in a veld near Rietfontein Farm with the woman inside, seemingly unconscious. Police responded and rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, the woman was found with gunshot wounds in a VW Polo.

“Paramedics were notified about the incident and on arrival, the woman was certified dead. She was identified as Nompumelelo Patricia Malaza. According to her family, Nompumelelo, who was employed by a reputable bank in Sabie, was on her way to Carolina to visit her brother,” read the statement. 

A case of murder was opened and the matter is being investigated. The motive behind the murder is still unknown at this stage. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle. Her belongings including a wallet as well as her handbag and a laptop were found inside the vehicle.
